Finding a dishwasher isn’t easy—this much we know. I can definitely empathize, as I have been in situations before in which I have to find a new dishwasher only to embark on a confusing search for the highest-quality product.
This can feel even more complicated when you also need to find a dishwasher that has a heated dry feature, allowing the dishes to dry faster
However, there is hope. Just because the market of dishwashers is vast and complicated, doesn’t mean that your search has to be. This is why I’m here to help—in this article, I’ll be taking a look at four of the market’s most popular dishwashers with heated dry in order to analyze the pros and cons of each machine. I’ll be taking a look at efficiency, effectiveness, durability, design, and quality of customer service.
So, without further ado, here are my reviews:
Frigidaire FFID2426TD Black Stainless Steel Dishwasher
Right off-the-bat, the first thing you’ll notice about this dishwasher is its affordable price. The FGID2426TD isn’t the cheapest product available on the market, but it is definitely a great option for those who are looking for quality alongside affordability. Depending on where you shop around, you can also find some impressive deals, making this a high-end product for a low-end price.
The next thing you’ll notice is that this dishwasher has a pretty reasonable size. As opposed to other models that might take up too much space in your kitchen, the FFID2426TD has a width of 24 inches, depth of 25 inches, and a height of 33.5 inches.
Something that sets this product apart from the rest is how thoroughly it cleans each dish. There are multiple settings to choose with the machine depending on how thorough you want to be, allowing you to clean even the trickiest of dishes. The quickest option takes under an hour to clean all of the dishes and is pretty efficient.
The volume of the dishwasher while it cleans is also something to praise. The dishwasher’s volume never rose above a quiet whirr, an aspect of the product that made it stand out among other products on the market.
The heated dry also doesn’t impede the efficiency of the product, helping you dry your dishes just as effectively as you clean them! The FGID2426TD also does a good job in cleaning up the moisture leftover from the heated dry.
It should be noted, though, that while using this product you might experience some jams with the dish racks. If you should have any problem with the device, though, it’s reassuring to know that there is a great customer support line that can help you out with any problem you might have. Frigidaire is a company known for helping you get the most out of your warranty, whether you need replacement parts or a new machine entirely.
The Frigidaire FFID2426TD is an exceptional product and I highly recommended it for anybody who is looking for a high-quality dishwasher that won’t break the bank.
Whirlpool WDT750SAHZ Fully Integrated Built-In Dishwasher
The durability of the WDT750SAHZ is quite remarkable. It has an incredibly durable model that will sustain any type of damages, something that makes it the most sustainable option on this list.
The aesthetic beauty of the WDT750SAHZ is largely due to the stainless steel outside that makes it looksleek. The design of this model is very elegant, with the inside racks being quite intuitive to use. Because of its design, you won’t have trouble fitting in dishes, something I believe to be the sign of a versatile interior design.
Something important to mention when looking at the WDT750SAHZ is the fact that the dishwasher is not the most affordable model for what you get. For example, quality-wise its efficiency is very comparable to the previously mentioned Frigidaire model on this list, but the WDT750SAHZ is significantly more expensive. Depending on where you purchase it you can find certain deals on the device that might make it more affordable/valuable, but based on the standardized price it’s important to take note that it might not be worth it.
This dishwasher is most worth getting if you want something that has a gorgeous design and a good amount of efficiency. Like I mentioned, the type of design is not only durable but aesthetically sound, both aspects that can justify the price.
It should be noted, though, that the heated dry aspect of this machine works quite well, but makes some noise where the washing process did not. If this is not a significant factor of the machine for you, then you will love the heated dry feature.
Another downside to this dishwasher was the TotalCoverage spray arm. Because it is advertised as being a selling point of the product, you’d think this would be on the of the highest-quality parts of the dishwasher, but this is not the case. Some users have reported having to spend excessive amounts of time adjusting the spray arm to get it to work properly, something that detracted from the overall experience.
KitchenAid KDTM354DSS with Clean Water Wash System
KitchenAid is a company that has become well-known for consistently providing reliable products. This trend is perpetuated with the KitchenAid KDTM354DSS, a dishwasher that gives you an incredibly high-quality, reliable product.
The product’s biggest downside, though, is apparent upon first glance: its price. The price is the aspect of the KDTM354DSS that will likely make it inaccessible to most people, being on the higher end of dishwasher prices.
In terms of the product you’re getting, it might be more efficient for you to invest in a smaller-budget product if you do not care about the water usage of a specific unit. This is because the KDTM354DSS has a near identical effectiveness to other machines on this list, but the area in which it excels is efficiency.
The reason why you would want to invest in the KDTM354DSS is because of how efficiently it uses water. For example, the Clean Water Wash System allows you to have an incredibly thorough wash without using up as much water as other models might. This also removes the need to monitor and remove a filter, something that could be a selling point for those who want to make their overall dishwashing experience as seamless as possible.
There are also 40 incredibly sophisticated spray jets within the device that help you get those hard-to-reach spots in dishes, with the jets themselves making efficient use of the water that goes into the machine.
There is also a heated dry option that makes this product worth the price, as there was almost no hassle at all with drying the dishes even quicker than they were washed.
All of these elements are what makes the KDTM354DSS incredibly worthwhile. It’s efficient, effective, and has a sleek design that makes it stand out among the rest. There is also a useful extended warranty and customer service that makes it a reliable product, but this does not justify the price of the product.
GE GDT695SSJSS with Stainless Steel Tub and Steam Prewash
In terms of general product quality, the GDT695SSJSS is comparable to the previously reviewed KDTM354DSS. This is because the GDT695SSJSS is incredibly efficient and noted for its usage of water, but also because it is expensive for a dishwasher with heated dry. For this reason, almost all of the same review points apply, with the impressive effectiveness of the machine standing out, but feeling slightly confusing given how expensive the dishwasher is.
This machine does have some features that other dishwashers don’t, though—for example, being able to select different wash zones is pretty convenient. For those who are unfamiliar, this means that you can wash only the upper or lower parts of the dishwasher, allowing you to put in a half load without having to worry about your water usage.
The heated dry for this product is also not as efficient as it could be, not having the same thoroughness that the other machines in this article have.
While using this product, I also appreciated the third rack that let me locate all of my silverware to a more compact area of the dishwasher than other models on this list.
1. What is the heated dry feature?
The heated dry feature is comprised of a vented dry system to speed up the dishwasher’s drying process.
2. How does the heated dry feature work?
It works through using fans in the dishwasher that push hot air into the machine at the end of the rinsing process. The hot air then warms the dishes, drying them before the cold air falls back to the bottom of the machine where it’s able to exit. Any remaining moisture is then funneled back into the machine to be recycled for the next cycle.
3. Do these products come with drain hoses?
Yes, they do! The length of the drain hose you get will depend on the product itself, but each product will list the length in the description regarding its specifications.
4. What types of warranties do these products come with?
All of the dishwashers in this article come with some type of extended warranty. Sometimes this comes directly with the product, other times it comes secondary in-the-mail. Regardless, though, you will get some form of long-term coverage no matter which product you use.
5. Do you have to purchase any secondary materials to use these machines?
Yes; though each washer comes with the materials necessary for it to work, you do need an installation kit of some sort to set up the dishwasher. This means finding the right type of angle stop and line for the machine you purchase.
6. Where does the silverware basket go on these dishwashers?
Though the silverware basket comes on the inside of the door, you can also secure the silverware basket onto any spot in the dishwasher.
The variety of dishwashers you can find in the current market is incredibly difficult to navigate. In this list I have provided four of the market’s most notable models, helping you weigh the pros and cons of each design.
If I were to choose one model to wholeheartedly recommend, I would say that the Frigidaire FFID2426TD is the best dishwasher on the market right now. For me, it comes down to the efficiency and affordability of the product. A common conclusion I reached was that if you had a machine that was affordable, you were definitely sacrificing some aspect of the product’s efficiency. However, with the FFID2426TD it didn’t feel like this, something that made it easy to rely on. The provided warranty and customer service is also quite consistent, making it easier to have faith in the event that anything would go wrong.
The heated dry with the FFID2426TD also was the most successful and quiet of all 4 of the dishwashers, making it the most efficient machine overall.
So, the next time you’re in the market for a new dishwasher, be relieved to know that you have many options to choose from. All four of these products are safe purchases, making it easier-than-ever to find a good dishwasher with heated dry!
